OK.....I JUMPED THE CASE(KINDA...KEPT IT IN THE FAMILY)/CATT BOAT FOR 1 KNIFE:)....BUT HOW DID I DO?? MY NEWEST ADDITION....BEUTIFUL CONDITION ALL AROUND,HEAVY AS HECK AND VERY WELL MADE!! VERY LITTLE WEAR ON BLADES...BOTH ARE TIGHT TIGHT WITH PERFECT HALF STOP AND TIGHT SNAP...HANDLES ARE PERFECT:)BOTH STAMPED KINFOLKS USA..SECONDARY STAMPED 6292.IS THIS A RARER KNIFE??I HAVENT SEEN ANOTHER. I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT KINFOLKS OTHER THAN THERE AFFILIATION WITH THE CASE FAMILY.ANY IDEA ON VALUE??ANY IDEA ON AGE???THIS THING WASENT CHEAP:( BOOK VALUE??? REAL WORLD VALUE???LET ME KNOW WHAT YA"LL THINK,THANKS

If I remember Kinfolks made straight knives mostly.Folders were very low production, so your knife would rare.

hey jrfan kinfolks was in buisness from1926-1958 and they mostly made fixed blades the rare ones are the kinfolk pocket knives and hunters also the jean case fixed blades named after dean cases father jean these came out in 1929 when they took over the company i have a single blade kinfolk i though it was sharpened but come to find out the single blade hunters had the same blade as the double bladed hunters what i mean is the double blade secondary blade is the same as the single blade hunter if that makes any sense. mine is a single blade in great condition and it is the only one i have seen i think it might be rare let me know guys. alot of guys call them rat tails.

Most definitely, they're both what's popularly referred to, as a rat-tail hunter.

Kinfolks folders, as you both know are pretty rare - and both of those knives are beauties !

I couldn't help with a value on those - but, there was a Boker rat-tail, in stag, at the swap meet in Damascus, Ark. last weekend. (Definitely not as desirable, or as old, as those Kinfolks). It was $40, and didn't sell. Yours are much more valuable, no doubt.
