Good luck Wade! Gotta watch them hogs Scott, they can be mean critters. Spent all day yesterday in the woods, saw 18 deer (does, spikes, and buttons) - ruts on - I was horn hunting yesterday, not meat hunting, so I didn't shoot one. Got some cool pictures on my cell phone, will load a couple later. OH

If you mean cross over to the promised land, no. All you see in these pictures crossed from one side of the woods to the other, spending some time on the lanes browsing and feeding. OH

Nice open field of fire. Two questions because I'm nosy. 1. What caliber is your good looking rifle? 2. In the knives in the wild thread you rested your knife on the tines of a deer rack. Can we see a photo of your success?

Garry the rifle is a Browning in 7MM Remington Magnum. Those antlers are from one I killed many years ago. I use them to rattle in the next one. This weekend they didn't work. I don't have a picture of the deer that donated those little rattlin' antlers.

Those rolls of hay should be a great blind. Move a couple around and block the wind, leave room for a good chair so you can peek around or over and watch for Bambi. If he cooperates, what a great rest for your Browning!

Phil I've been hunting from that spot for years. The owner of the land is a good friend and he always makes sure the bales are spaced so I can get back in behind them. I keep a plastic lawn chair back there but don't use it much. Most of the time I stand behind a bale so I can see a bigger view. I have a ladder stand back in the woods just a little to the left of where my gun is pointed in that picture.

That does look like a mighty nice place to hunt, Phil. Idyllic is the word that comes to mind, at least for us folks in the Southeast part of the country.

I've hunted that field and the woods behind it since 1993. I absolutely love that place. I've taken several decent bucks from the vantage point shown in my photo. (Three in the previous four years) There are a small group of us who hunt the area and we all get together for breakfast on opening morning at a cabin on the back of an adjoining farm. The cook is a director for the company I work for and the guy who owns the property where I hunt is an agent for my company as well as a good friend. I can't imagine spending opening weekend anywhere else.

Checked a game camera this afternoon and found some interesting pictures of 2 coyotes in the deep woods. There were quite a few pictures of the two, but here are 5 that show the coyotes strollin' in the late afternoon. Look close and see the slight difference in the two critters. There are always a lot of night time pictures of them traveling this cart trail going both directions.

Did you notice the 2nd one has a black/dark tip on its' tail? I'd be glad for you to have the tail feathers. If any of them make a mistake in the next few months, I'll do my best to light 'em with my .243.

QS, your friends are gettin' it done!! The youngster looks proud and the buck has stickers runnin' every direction plus a drop tine. We don't see many big ones like that in our part of the world. Lots of good eatin' in those two.

I did Phil, that tail is fantastic! I've got tons of white tails and specimens from attic fox, moose, elk, caribou, red fox, silver fox, red squirrel but no coyote. I wonder if their tail hair is hollow or solid?

Beautiful buck and a proud boy - good days hunting. I went flounder gigging in the salt marshes along the Intercoastal with a buddy last night. Wind picked up and poling the boat became a real cardio exercise test- got two before quitting. OH
