My Schrades, if I may
I have been crazy about Schrades since a young boy and been collecting for about 40 years.
I spent some time yesterday just taking pics of my schrade collection to post here.
I've been wanting to for a long time, just never got 'a round tuit'. (which is a round wooden coin my dad gave me many years ago)
Forgive the picture quality, I only have my phone to do this.
Anyway...
I'd like to start with my most important knife...my dad's old schrade walden.
Told me he got it at about 9 or 10 years of age, stared at it for the longest time before buying it, gave about $10 iirc. then a my uncles knife...
notice the plastic bag with a piece of paper in it. My sentimental knives I have placed in a bag with a short note about it. This is so my kids will know not to sell it or give it away when I'm gone. love me some folding hunters

and last, but not least...
a few re-purposed knives that have broken blades and such.
the top one is my favorite whittler, scary sharp.

BatJak: You certainly may. Enjoyed seeing your extensive collection and that it includes some scrimshaw. I think the knife you identified as your favorite whittler is actually a stockman. No?

Re: My Schrades, if I may
It is indeed a stockman. It had a broken blade and I only gave a few dollars for it
with the intention of reshaping the blades and making it a whittler.
I got the idea after seeing a picture of a knife Schrade made for Walt Garrison.
It was the 8OT frame with 3 sheepsfoot blades only, no spade or clip.

Nice gathering of knives there, especially your Dad's and Uncle's Knives. I have a few Schrades myself and the ones from my family are the most sentimental to me, however, I am very fortunate to own some very Special/Rare knives as well.
Thank you for posting your knives!

BatJak that's quite a collection of Schrades! Great variety, you've got some real gems there. I happen to have one of Walt's knives here, the sheepfoot was his favorite blade for whittling, had to be razor sharp, with a razor edge as well!

Nice collection.
It is great that you have family heirloom knives!
I have my granddad's 34OT with a Wharncliffe mod on the clip blade and my dad's 225H and 2 or 3 other Schrades that were dad's.
They're are my favorite Schrades!

What a fine gallery of knives! I see some of my favorites in there. I bet you had fun rounding them up for the photo op. Thanks for sharing them. But don't stop now; there are some you don't have yet.

I have to say that the very first one is by far my favorite but there are some GREAT sleepers in there.

You have some very nice patterns there, BatJack....
Tom, I'd say you're being a might modest when you say you have a "few" Schrades .

Re: My Schrades, if I may
It has been an enjoyable hobby.
I have a bunch of knives that aren't schrade but these are my favorite.
I found the 51OT Big Timer in a small town surplus store in the corner of a display case.
It was in a clam pack if I recall. I snatched it up because when I was little I remember one
in the display at the local Gibson's discount center back in the 70's sometime.
I thought it was the bee's knees because of the size and shape of the blade.
Never did get one though.... (time travel 30 odd years to the future) BAM GOTCHA
Never have carried it, just whittled with it a bit.
My wife doesn't understand my knife obsession.
One time, while putting away dishes, I jokingly said "ya got enough tupperware in this cabinet?"
To which she replied "ya got enough pocket knives?"
I shut up at that point...
