"Stiletto"-marked Schrade dogleg?

I bought a swap meet knife today that is identical to this Schrade Walden 866 pictured with the exceptions that it has jigged handles and is etched "Stiletto 1966" on the main blade, the word "Stiletto" inside a double headed arrow. It is stainless and there are no tang stamps.

I've seen the "Stiletto" stamp on axes. Anyone familiar with this knife? As soon as I get my good camera back I will post a side-by-side pic.

goins - 1896-1942. trademark used by miller, sloss & scott, and also baker, hamilton & pacific co., hardware companys. made by napanoch, 1901-1917, new york knife, 1920-1931, and union cutlery 1933-1942. from levine's 3rd.

Here's the side-by-side. The knives are identical. Those dates don't include 1966 or Schrade, so I'm still a bit perplexed.

I thought originally that the blades were stainless, but they are pretty crudded up. In that vein, can anybody recommend a way to clean off the worst of that spotting while leaving the imprint intact?
