Marbles Bowie

Post by Quick Steel »

Just received this vintage Marbles Bowie. Excellent condition, almost mint except for some wear marks on the brass. Does not appear to have been sharpened or used; it came very sharp. The balance point is two inches in front of the guard which is typical of this pattern; makes for a very good chopper. Damascus blade. If anyone has info on this knife I would appreciate your input.

Imported...Pakistan or China...think Pakistan made all the damascus steel blades

Stag, I know you are correct. I queried the seller as to the origin and, perhaps playing dumb, said he believed Marbles were made in Gladstone, MI. When the knife arrived I momentarily thought I had done alright. Years ago I bought a couple of large Pakistani blades to check out the quality. They were crude. But this "Marbles" is not crude; seems to be pretty sturdy but of course I have no idea how the blade will stand up to serious use.

Thanks for the info.

If you got it for $40 you got a pretty good deal, and as stated above it's a relatively new pattern and not USA made. ::nod::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

1967redrider: I agree, at $40 it would have been a good deal. Unfortunately, I did not get a good deal. Actually, at this point, it seems like a decent knife. Time will tell.
