REHANDLED SCHATT IN STAG BY THE MUSKRAT MAN

Here is my Schatt Waterfall that was dying an ugly death, slow and painful to watch.

Did not know how I could save this gem but to rehandle it. So guess who I thought of? Our buddy muskrat man. He took this knife to a whole new place for me. The stag handles are smooth and tight and great halfting as well. Nice thick stag with perfect matching sides and color. He did the indentation for the punch blade perfectly. These handles are smooth as silk, not a spur in sight or feel. Like jonet143 said when I showed it to him, "I like it better like that." Me too Johnnie

Feels like an old friend and came back without a scratch on the knife at all. Another great knife saved thanks to mm.

Kaleb is getting darn good at his trade! Wasn't long ago he wouldn't attempt a shield!

Turbocarver makes inlays of all types very easy and shields snap. A Turbocarver is an air driven tool and I love mine. It runs at 400,000 RPM and sounds almost like a dentists drill. To make a comparison the Dremel tops out at 20,000 RPM.

A turbocaver runs 20 times as fast as a Dremel.

I don't know if Kaleb uses one or not but I love mine. I still use a Dremel, there are occassions where a Dremel is the better tool for a specific job.

In thickness as well as grains.
He has some incredible stag right now, don't miss out on it>

Hukk, I have read about on the turbo carver was thinking about getting one when I get an air compressor. I use a dremel for all my stuff.

It was a fun one to do, I would rather work stag than any other handle material.

Here's why he really impressed me with this knife. Just look at the attention to detail on the scales matching and how he cut from the bottom in order to save all the purty grain of that stag. Again, the hafting, WOW. I haven't seen too many factory knives match like that.

You can get dental burrs for a really good price on eBay. If you need to Know where I got mine (same as Agteacher2) let me know, if you don' have his name already.

For the Turbo carver you need a clean line - no oiler. I set mine up like the one in the picture. A regulator for the Turbocarver and a couple other tools and a regulator with an oiler for my pneumatic tools. The regulator I got with the carver is at the table where I have my Dremel and Turbocarver set up. They sell a regulator with the Turbocarver, needs to be set at 40psi, I think.

I also got the set up for using water to make the burrs last longer. Some of the burrs they sell there are decent. You can find better burrs, just look at the kits and buy from another source if you can find them cheaper. I was pressed for time, so I bought the kits.

Stone, metal, bone, etc. Some burrs overlap and is used in bone and metal kits both.

thanks for the info and praise Hukk. I was going to get the compressor for blowing out finished knives to get rid of any debris, but figured it'd give me a good excuse to buy a turbo carver, or maybe I should buy the turbo carver and that will give me an excuse to get the compressor?
