Any Information on These Cattaraugus Knives?

I picked these two up in a knife lot and don't know too much about them. The smaller two blade knife is in new unused condition with brown bone handles. Large blade is marked Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley NY. with #22339 marked on the other side. The larger lock back has very dark brown wood handles and is also marked Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley NY. Can anybody tell me anything about these knives? I don't see many of this brand where I buy here in Maine, and they aren't what I usually collect. At this point don't know if I will keep em' or not, but it would be nice to know something about them. Thanks Dave

Wow!!! Both nice looking knives....most likely circa 1890's to early 1940's. I don't have any info on the pattern numbers, but those are both nice knives. Made by Cattaraugus Cutlery co of Little Vallet NY. They were in business from the 1880's through 1863...although pocket knives were not made after WWII. Some members of the Case family got their start working at Cattaraugus.

BTW, if you ever decide to sell the two-blade swell center.....I would be VERY interested.

the big 4 1/4" moose style 22339 is pictured in lavona ferguson's price guide as stag handled(1978) with a value of $200 in mint condition. the second knife, also pictured, is a king of the woods, 12839 with a mint value of $700.(1978) please forward to me for evaluation.

Thank you for the information fellas, the top one looks like it was made this year and has never been sharpened or messed with. I thought maybe they still made them and it was new. The lock back is well used and has about 1/2" of blade sharpened away. Appreciate the facts and names of each, now I really do have to decide if I want to keep them or sell them I guess. My interests run to the newer ones personally like the ones I just posted in the knife discussion above.

Hi; If you decide to sell or trade that Cattaraugus two blade, I am definitley interested. I see you are in Maine; I am in the Worcester Mass area.

For trading, I have some modern Queen and Schatt knives listed under ADVERTISEMENTS....I also have about 60 or more older Case pocket knives available, many from the 1980's, 1970's, and older including USA and XX and Tested, etc. So, depends on what you are interested in.
