Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Rocky have you considered employing a locksmith to help get that case open ? I suspect he might be able to make you a key.

I think this is another Hunter Trader Trapper HTT Remington bulldog? Handles are good and it has a faint Remington Trade Mark etch. No pattern number. Has the black composite handle spacer at the small end. Has seen a fair amount of use and the snap is week.

Remumc. Nice HTT Bulldog! It's one of those patterns where the name matches to the feel of the knife ~ very stout. Seems like they are difficult to find in any condition.

Remumc, your bulldog is really nice. Thanks for showing it off. I don't see them very often and have wanted one for a long time. I have only seen pictures of one other one than the ones you and Jerry have shown.

A while back I posted a picture of a display case I bought that was full of knives that matched the buttons. I had never opened the back till Rocky asked about A key for his. When I opened it i was pleasantly surprised.
This display case was shipped from Burials & black, Inc wholesale hardware out of Syracuse N.Y.

It so good to see some of the men posting I have sure missed you boys and getting a look see at your Remington collection!

Glad you asked about A key Rocky. I'll have to frame that.

Here is a knife I got from Roger. I think it's a pretty hard to find one. R4023. It doesn't have a pattern stamp on it.

Used had and in rough condition! Interesting pattern that was used for several models from 2-4 blades. Main blade is one of the strangest shapes I have seen.

Keith, I have a R4023 that is stamped. Yours might have been inked on. The R4023 is an elegant looking pattern (IMO). Mine is susceptible to blade rub.

Remumc. I have a similar knife to yours. R55, even in used condition I really like yours. Mine has a pen in place of your punch, and your bone handles are great.

Another abused knife. Probably after the scout grew up and gave it to the grandkids! Has R3333 blade.

Mike - What should the bail look like? I have one for sale here (https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... overs-532-) and I thought it was right as rain but if it isn't I'll pull it down. Thoughts?

BTW - Hope you are evacuated and safe. Looking forward to seeing you again in January. ::handshake::

Thank you espn77, did they have different pulls on these...books show this stamp 1924 to 33.
I think a forward pull would help on this knife.
