Does anyone know anything about this maker? I think handmade with nice wood scales. Tang says C.Tenney Trading Co. Geneva, Ohio. Sorry I can't take a decent photo inside. Otto

does it say made in u.s.a. or u.s.a.? probabably a contracted knife for the c. tenney trading company.

The other side of the tang reads Tenney Made U.S.A with a half sunburst.

It's 3 1/2" closed with a 3" blade. I think the handles are burlwood. Striped with great snap and half stop. Really well made.

Yes as MM says, Tenney has a number of patterns made by Queen.

Chris Tenney was buying parts and building some of them himself. They came in a nifty little oak box with a slide top.
Some of the pearl knives were fantastic. Heck, they all were.
He is now building high end antique style furniture.

I actually have about 1/2 dozen 1/2 whittlers with the tenney mark that need fitted, edged and assembled.

MM got the parts from me, and I got them from Chris! He is indeed a nice guy. I used to see him at the Queen show every other year. I have three or four of his knives still, and a beautiful dovetailed candle box he made several years ago. I will have to see if I can look him up. He's a very good craftsman as well as an exceptional and generous human being.
He knew I collected HJs and punches, and sent me a rare punch, out of the blue. that was patented by Schatt of S & M. I had never seen one before (now I have three).
