Good lookin Jack there Charlie. Except for the barehead, it's the spitin image of the 2nd Series HJ's you made.upnorth wrote:Here's an older one that I picked up yesterday. A friend back east found it at a recent show in Severieville (sp?).
Ebony, 3 1/2" long, half stops, snappy (broke my nail!), light patina. Beautiful punch which I must research for the patent. This one is special!!
That punch sure looks like a good user... fuel for thought?

I gotta tell you guys, it brings a tear to my eye seeing all those HJs out there. A few years ago, I was looking for an obscure pattern to collect, figuring it would save me money! Mostly because there would be very few to buy.
However, I enjoyed them so much, I wanted to see more of them, and I got so much feedback from posting them on the forums, I tried to talk Case into producing them.
They didn't pick up the ball, but Queen agreed to do limited runs on contract, and you know the rest! Not the best business deal of my life, let's just say I don't make any money on them. But seeing you knifers appreciate them is satisfaction par excellence!
Thanks!!!

Thank Charlie, thank Charlie you say!!!
He's the reason I'm eating generic brand beanie weenie's these days, the reason why my wife doesn't talk to me half the time and the reason why I can't stop looking for more of these incredible bladed jewels....
Thank you Charlie for allowing us to share your enthusiasim with these vintage beauty's...I'm sure they would have been forgotten by the mainstream collector but for your interest and hardwork..

Hey that's great islander, welcome to the harness jack affliction
You need to verify this new addiction with a few pictures of your new purchase.
I'm glad you liked the service with Vintage Knives, I have had nothing but great results from them..
