Re: The Little Knives!
This little 2" Skeeter Skinner was given to me by Linnea's oldest daughter.
This little whipper snapper is a custom made by a member here named Damon Soileau (I don't remember his screen name & he was here only a short time). It's made entirely out of Damascus steel and it's 2-3/16" closed. It was sent to me in a roundtable we had five years ago.

Re: The Little Knives!
Good looking mini's everybody. Here are most of mine.
The one on the top left has shell handles and a patent number I believe it once had a name but I cant read it now. The second on top has what I believe is D luxe on the tang as well as abalone handles. The utility knife has 6 tools and was made in japan. The smallest out of the three on the bottom has scout on the shield. The second to the smallest on the bottom I believe has celluloid handles and I can't read the tang. I have one more thats a miller bros quil pen knife with ivory handles. I will have to dig it out and take pics

Re: The Little Knives!
One of the guys in my boot camp platoon enlisted in the Coast Guard after he got out of the Marines and made a career of it. He's in the LA area of California. We hit boot camp in mid-'62 so he would have retired in the early to mid-'80s. Name is Bill McKown.

Tony, just want to comment that I have very high regard for your branch. I don't think many Americans understand the tremendous, and I do mean tremendous, performance of the CC during Katrina. It deserves a book. And then there is the every day quiet heroism displayed during harrowing rescue operations. Bless you all.

Thanks buddy! 24/7/365- rescues, pollution control and enforcement, drug and migrant interdiction, thousands of bouys and lighthouses, ship inspections, units over there in the current mess, military ops with allies, and all with about only the same pers as the NYC PD!
