Info requested on Syracuse Knife Co.

Post by DR_MAGOO »

Just recently did a trip to Alaska and picked up a couple of folders and some other stuff that I'll try and post. Any info about these would be greatly appreciated. These are in as found condition. The first one is Syracuse Knife Co., Syracuse N.Y.

I found two listings in Goins:

1. Syracuse Knife Co. 1975-1976. A trademark used by Camillus. "Product of Poland" stamped on the small blade.
2. Syracuse Knife Co. 1935-1940. A trademark used by Camillus.

That's all it says.

Thanks Mike. I don't see any markings on the small blade.

Since the tang stamp has "Syracuse N.Y." on the bottom, it's pretty clear it would fall under the second Goin's listing. I think I've got a couple of old Syracuse knives in my scout knife collection.

Rather than starting a new thread......

I just picked up another Syracuse Knife Co. folder and while doing a little research, I see there is at least 2 different tang stamps for what I am assuming is their 1935 to 1940 production period.

Here is one......

Here is another......

My latest has some badly shrunken scales but it looks like the blades have never been sharpened.... Musta spent a lot of time in someone's sock drawer....

Anyway, y'all got any other early Syracuse Knife Company folders?
