Congrats and kudos to Bestgear - Tom - for his very well written and quite enjoyable Knife Magazine article just published in the July 2017 issue on the Remington BSA Heroism Knife which even made the cover shot .... Though there was a thread started by Tom when he found this knife below "Scoutings Holy Grail" viewtopic.php?f=2&t=49779, and I & a few others congratulated Tom in there in the last few days I think many may not have seen or read the thread which started last Spetember - I know I missed that thread as many of us can't catch and read them all ... Nonetheless as Tom is a regular contributor to AAPK I just wanted to congratulate him and bring it to the attention of other members here on AAPK - Great job Tom .... and what a historically important knife!!!

Thank you gentlemen, it was a great journey and truly a labor of love. I never envisioned myself as a "writer" but what I researched had to come out and the story was the best way of sharing what I had learned. I still ponder whether I could run into a burning building to save my siblings, an amazing feat during any generation. Your heartfelt sentiments are greatly appreciated and humbling.

I haven't read the article yet either, but knew it was coming, and was excited that "one of our own" was involved. Especially given how passionate you are about scouting, Tom.

Thank you Glenn! Growing up in my house, Scouting wasn't an option, it was a requirement (i.e. religion). I'm proud to be a third generation Eagle Scout and raised a fourth. The programs has had it's share of up's-and-down's but any program that survives 107 years and boasts over 2.4 million youth participants and nearly one million adult volunteers has to be doing something right. Researching and writing about the Remington Heroism program needed to be told, especially in the times we live in.
