Glenn, that Wade & Butcher is exceptional. First time I recall seeing it. The stag is amazing.
Looks like iron bolsters?

Glenn I wouldn't recommend a mod on that one. That is outstanding. What do you think it's age is? Magnificent!glennbad wrote:Just some really unique and rare knives being shared. I forgot about this thread, and honestly don't really post in this section, as I am not as well-studied as some of you guys.
However, I never get tired of sharing this Wade & Butcher. I just wish it was in a little better shape.

Thanks, my best guess is it falls in the 1818-1890 range.gsmith7158 wrote:

Re: Lets show some Old and Rare ones.
Here's an old one with an odd pattern, not sure what to call it? Fabyan Knife Co. I usually don't go after German knives but this one was too good to pass on. Derek and I were thinking of having a custom maker make a few of these with the old Catt handles on them!!

Here is another Fabyan, given to me by the above poster,Mike. Thanks again Mike for your generous contribution to the farmers jack collection.
the last picture I scarfed from the internet to show what the stamp (?) on the pruning blade should look like.
Apx.4" , as almost all farmers jacks.Lovely shape on this particular frame. Amazing the difference fractions in a design can make.

Manhattan Cutlery Co Germany, nice large ebony serpentine jack. Could not find much on it, maybe made by Boker around WW1?

Wow John,
That's some pile side stamp and I expect a very rare stamp in all. You and Diane are amassing quite a collection.

Sweet fancy Moses that bottom one is beautiful, both great knives but man that spotted yellow like rotting banana is spectacular.

That Manhattan knife is very cool. It was indeed a stamp used by Boker.

You don't see many Barnsley Bros. from Monett, Mo. The ones I do see are very worn.
Even though someone tried to "clean" this one they didn't completely ruin it.
So for a 110 year old knife.... I'll take it home....

Wonderful and rare old knife! Believe it or not I've been to Monett, but it was long ago. Went to watch my cousin play a baseball game there, early 1960s. Was Barnsley Bros. a hardware store?

Thanks guy's, I just wish it wasn't so "shinny".
Ken, Barnsley Bros. manufactured knives and razors from 1898 to 1906.
I see more of their razors than knives.
