What is crocus polishing?

I came across an old Schrade Walden on ebay tonight with a description that said, "Main blade is crocus polished on the front side." Can someone enlighten me as to what that means.

Its a type of finish applied to a blade. A crocus polish on a blade is like looking in a mirror. It is smooth and shiny and shows undistorted reflections. Most of the time it is found on older high quality knives. Usually just on one side of the main blade, where there is an etch.
