Newest Case Pick-Ups

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

For some reason I don't have hardly any 2 dots unless I would send them your way my friend. Hope life finds you and yours well.
Jerry
Thanks Jerry, very cool that you remember the when and where of your Dad buying the knife for you. I can see where it would make a useful edc....Just for the record, it's 8 dots that I am accumulating, not 2 dots...I am pretty sure you know that though, just a typo I'm sure...and thanks for the sentiments, much appreciated. ::handshake::
Yea buddy. Meant 8 dots, 1972. Not a typo just a brain fade thinking backwards on dot system momentarily. Or not backwards I should say.

Greg,
What's the history of the Panama Trapper? I've not paid much attention to them and really only remember seeing them mentioned in the last few years. Now that you've posted yours I kinda' like the looks of it. ::hmm::

Phillip I have just discovered them but apparently they've been around for a while. Steve99f showed a couple that he got at the Shot Show in the It's in the mail thread. It's 4 5/8 closed so it's a big hunk of Cutlery. ::nod::

The ebony PT was bought from AG Russell, they said it was a Shot Show knife. It was made July, 2013. The antique sawcut PT was made Dec 2012. The swedge on the clip and the skinner blade are what sold me on them. They are a handful.

That is a beauty there Greg. ::tu::

Found this at a yard sale this weekend. Case Outlander Wilderness Knife. Mod.369, black rubberized handle, black leather sheath. Made in 1986 and comes with survival gear including thermometer and compass in handle, fishing gear, whistle, permanent match and sharpening stone. Black oxide tru-sharp double serrated saw tooth blade. I did'nt know Case made a survival type knife, maybe a SFO. Does anyone know anything about this thing?

Mike.

RalphAlsip wrote:My new Case Tribal Lock with smooth antique bone arrived today. It has a heftier feel than I was expecting, but still very thin. It opens and closes smoothly and locks up tight with no blade play.

I took pictures along side a large Case Copperlock for comparison. The Copperlock feels significantly lighter and smaller in the hand than the tribal lock. I intend to carry this one.

Jerry

I kept coming back to these pictures of your Tribal Lock and decided I needed a copy too. Made the same selection with the bomb shield and ringed bolsters with the very nicely colored smooth bone handles. The other models lacked the fancy bolsters and the bomb shield. A fantastic knife.

Steve, Glad to hear you picked up a Tribal Lock. I think it's a great knife and really good value! Mine has been getting a lot of pocket time.
