Just a rant

Post by okbohn »

This is typical of what you find on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-Bark-River- ... dZViewItem

Some poor sap is going to buy this thinking it is stag--it is clearly stag bone. Some non-knife people don't know there is fake stuff out there and the seller never says it is not the real thing.

BTW--I don't mind him putting Stag in the title--gets a lot more hits--but you have to clarify in the description.

Knife

Post by Forensic Jim »

What a shame. He indicates the handles are Antique Stag, then say's they are ABS, which is an attempt to cover his *%# for antique BONE stag. Some sellers will stop at nothing to try and deceive some unwitting buyer into thinking they are getting real stag. IMO, that is some of the worst JIGGED BONE STAG I've seen! ::barf:: ::barf:: ::barf::
RIP Johnnie Rotten

So far, so good...So What!!

I dunno, I think the seller's sins pale in comparison to Mike Stewart's whole 'prototype' thing. In all of knifedom, I think only Bulldog has marked more blades prototype, than Stewart.

I can't speak to the prototypes of old, but I know Mike Stewart doesn't over-do prototypes now. He will make a few different prototype styles and get feedback and modify the design and make the new knife.

I have no gripes about that. How he chooses to do that stuff is up to him. But misrepresentation is another.

BTW--in the interest of full disclosure, I sell a lot of BRKT knives and am friends with Mike.

I think I have written enough about Mike Stewart by simply comparing him to the Parkers.
