GEC 18 mod
This little 18 is one of my favorite knives to carry. However, I was getting bored with the micarta covers. I decided to mod it.

Re: GEC 18 mod
Looks great, Glen! What is the handle material (some kind of acrylic I presume?) and where did you get it? How difficult is it to work with?

Re: GEC 18 mod
Yep, Tony you are likely correct in that, never thought of that possiblity. If that is the case likely fairly expensive and delicate to work with?

Re: GEC 18 mod
Actually, it's yes to both. It is genuine abalone, but with an acrylic coating on it. It's not awfully expensive, easy to work with, but don't heat it too much, it will warp.
Thanks.
Thanks.
