Skull shot is fabulous, so is the Fungus shot Rookie, others great too, but the skull is really cool.
Newest acquisition. The Crown Lifter with EZ open, no bail, no shield, no "Beer Scout Knife" trim package. Just the way I like it. Fine Sheep Foot and bones too.

Thanks guys, when I found that skull back in the woods I knew I had to use it for a shot.

Gsmith, I think that picture turned out really nicely. I think I'm going to attempt to make a light box and figure out how to take nice clean shots sometime in the near future.

Look for one of those pop up cat tents, if you can find one in white or just bleach a colored one to turn it white. Actually that's a good Idea, I'm gonna have to see if I can make one outta a pop up cat house.

Speaking of MOP and the right light.....I'd like to think I got the light right on this one. Problem is, I don't know what it was that I did right!
I was using bright white LED lighting but I haven't quite been able to reproduce the effect again. I don't have Photo-Shop so I'm only able to make some minor adjustments. It's another one I shot for the canoe thread a while back.

Sasquatch, you certainly did catch the right light. A world famous photographer once said that the key to having a great reputation as a photographer is simply to show only your best; never release the much larger number of inferior photos.

Charlie: That MOP Case turned out real good. Of all the handle materials I own, I think that MOP is the hardest to photo just right but it is the very best when I do get it right. And like I said a few pages back, I think that weathered wood is one of the best backgrounds.

Scott: very good photo of that Kershaw with the shavings. And I like the weathered wood background in your photo too.

MH - whatever you did to that photo sure brought out the fire in the handle. Very nice!

FYI if you're willing to deal with the learning curve and have a Windows, Apple or linux computer, you can download the software GIMP which, with certain caveats, can handle just about anything Photoshop can.

Fair warning: If you're used to Photoshop, you'll have to get used to lots of changes in the interface, shortcuts, etc. It's almost better to come at it as a neophyte. Extremely powerful software, though, and open source (free).

I actually downloaded GIMP a while back but only opened it once or twice and couldn't figure out how to use it. I'm going to have to spend some time fooling with it and learn by trial and error. I had no idea that it was comparable to Photo-Shop (which I don't know how to use either).

Pixlr editor is an online editor that uses their servers on line and also offers more than your average photo editing app, their software does about 85-90% of photoshop.

Thanks Paul. I'd like to have one with a CV blade and no etching for EDC duty. My Ol' Yeller CV Soddie Jr. is one of my favorite EDCs. The only thing that could make it better is stag handles.
