Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Back in February I picked up a F1632, 1/2 dozen box from Wayne. I thought it was for kitchen cutlery but Rocky informed me it was for a putty knife. So off on the hunt for a Remington putty knife I go. Low and behold I found one. Not a F1632 but a F1911 1/8 B. I think it's the 1632 little brother. It's going to have to work for now.

I like that R4143. I have a very nice 4144 and used to have a 4145. They are one of my favorite patterns.

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Thanks to Harald and the tissue paper he gifted me I have completed another display piece. Knife, box, wrapping paper, ad. The box is not for a later model scout knife but it will work for now. Thanks again Harald.

Very nice Remington scout display Keith , BTW both knife and box look DuPont era to me so it should be a correct box for that knife ?

It has the 1924-1933 stamp. I could be wrong but I thought that was prior to the Dupont era?

Keith, DuPont owned the controlling majority of Remington stock in May of 1933. But even so, in relation to the depression DuPont in the 1930's used "stock" blades and materials to cut cost and one could find later circa. patterned knives with earlier years tang stamps.

Agree 100% , everything about the knife looks DuPont except for the tang stamp , transitional knife for sure .

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
No stamp on the can opener would make it a DuPont era knife , first clue all UMC era scouts have the line on the bolster .
You are correct Acorn shield 1923-24 one piece can opener ,1925-26 Acorn shield with 2 piece vertical lift tab can opener , 1927 cut out shield, 1928-34 round shield , 1935-39 DuPont era round shield .
Lots of variations from 1925-39
Hope I got it right lol
