ID HELP SOLINGEN GERMANY #643 STAG FIXED BLADE

OK...THIS WAS BOUGHT FROM A FELLOW EMPLOYEE WHOM IS 82 YEARS OLD AND HE SAID IT WAS HIS UNCLES AND IT WAS GIVEN TO HIM WHEN HE WAS 19 AS A BIRTHDAY GIFT,AND HIS UNCLE HAD HAD IT A LONG TIME BEFORE THAT. IT IS STAMPED #643 ON ONE SIDE AND THE OTHER SIDE READS CUTLERYCO. SOLINGEN GERMANY,THE NAME OF THE CUTLERYCO. IS WORN OFF,THINKING LATE 1800"S EARLY 1900"S???ANY IDEAS ON WHO THE CUTLERY CO. IS ON THIS?? TOTAL LENGTH OF KNIFE IS ABOUT 7 1/2" THANKS DAVE

my guess would be a Voos, Schlieper fix blade knife. I think they were imported to NY. , I think, now I'm not for sure. Like I said, I'm wrong more than I'm right. Someone on here will know for sure though.

I'm betting on Schlieper or such and post war production, most likely late 1960s or 1970s. That's my best guess.

If the man was 19 when he got it that puts it around 1944-
If his uncle had it only ten to fifteen years that puts it back to 1930-BUT ten /fifteen years isn't a very long time as uncle stated.

Some uncles aren't much older [some are younger] then nephews but normally are about 25yrs older so if the seller was born about 1923 the uncle was born about 1900.

We don't know if the uncle got it used or really how much older uncle is over nephew but if he didn't get used it is likely he got it about age 20/25-which dates knife to 1925 or so.

Lots of 'ifs' here but it isn't a 1950's or newer knife.

Solingen was marked on knives [if for export] beginning when? 18??
