Sunday stag-day

Unless I'm going blind in my middle age I can't seem to find an active stag thread. This classic cutlery handle material lends each knife a unique flavor and character, and let's be honest: It just looks real good. No knife forum can be complete without a celebration of that knobby, gnarly, rustic stag we all know and love.

To kick things off, this is what I've got in my pockets today:

Here are three of my favorites:
A William Congreave quill knife with stag handles;one piece liners/bolsters ;and birds-eye rivets.
An Empire Knife Co.2 blade pen.
An unmarked mini pruner possibly of English origin.
All are over one hundred years old.

I love those old Sheffield swaybacks with stovepipe kicks and gnarly, well-ridged and well-aged stag. Yours seems to fit the bill, albeit maybe on the smaller side (unless that Empire is waaay bigger than I'm figuring).

Nothing better than some 100 year old stag with some character and some stories to tell.

Background is 1inch squares;the pruner is very small. Got a lot of old stag knives that age.
Here are a few more:A Geo.Woodhead pruner;a Samuel Robinson pruner;and an unmarked very large folder that has had the blade replaced.
A couple of Geo.Wostenholm folding dirks.

I too love stag, photo is a custom by Al Merideth, a Case Tested 6254, a Case trapper XX, & a newer Queen City whittler.

Ya know.....I didn't realize I had sooooo much stag, especially as a non collector.

The camp/scout is elk stag Imperial rehandled by whitebuffalo.
The CASE trapper was a gift from my Georgia buddy!
The German stag was a gift from my brother (he found one laying in a field while hunting, I just upgraded it a smidge).

After collecting knives for a few years now, stag is my favorite.

I do not necessarily need the gnarly pattern.

Stag should maybe be every day, but then again carrying a stag on Sunday would not be the special day.
