Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Nice ones gents! I bought these two from Ken Daniels at the Badger show today...the Schat & Morgan #69 Barlow is 1095 and genuine Winterbottom bone...and the workhorse series equal end wharnie is imitation winterbottom...I did not go into the show intending to buy Queens, but Mr. Daniels sure had some impressive knives with him, and very reasonably priced too. I got both of these for the price of an average GEC. Both walk and talk nicely and both shave hair...Nice work coming out of Queen...

Yeah, that's an older one with the black synthetic handles. Did you notice that these 18s (& 14s) all have excellent snap to the blades. I have yet to see one with weak snap. They're just like potato chips. I can't seem to get enough of them.bighomer wrote:Thanks Tony. Jerry yours is before here's after.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Funny, that skinner blade just looks outright bizarre to me & out of place on that Saddlehorn frame. I hated that skinner blade so much, I couldn't live with it, but I really like the heft and palm swell of the Saddlehorn pattern ... so extreme measures were necessary. I figured there was enough meat on it & the nail nick placement enabled me to lop off the tip & create a sheepsfoot blade out of it. Overall, I wish it didn't have the swedge grind but the mod suits me far better.Tsar Bomba wrote:The skinner blade? I think that's the best part of the Bose-designed saddlehorns (and my Boker copperheads)!Lansky1 wrote:Best part is it doesn't have the oddly shaped quasi-trapper blade they usually put on the medium frame Saddlehorns as the secondary blade - that is the one blade design I think Tony Bose didn't get right

Takes all kinds...![]()
PS - you mentioned the Boker Copperhead - that is similar in design to the Case Tiny Hunter - I've had several of those & eventually sold them all due to that skinner blade - I guess that extreme upswept blade just doesn't work for anything I do with a pocket knife - LOL. So I guess you're right - takes all kinds.
pffffft that's not a knife ......... now THAT'S a knife !! Crocodile Dundee

I have an orange one I bought a couple years ago, that has worked flawlessly so I couldn't resist a new color and blade shape.KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:I used to have a mini one, very fun knives.ken98k wrote:New Boker Auto

Not Queen Victoria. Victoria was the name of either the mother or the wife of the man who started the company that became SAK.

According to Google, the translation of "inox" (French) is "stainless steel" --- The translation of "Inoxidable" (Spanish) is "Stainless"bdev wrote:Inox is short for Inoxidable.jerryd6818 wrote:"Inox" = Stainless Steelkootenay joe wrote:knife made by "Inox" in Solingen![]()

I stand corrected. Now that you mention it, I do remember reading that it was a family member and not the Queen.kootenay joe wrote:Not Queen Victoria. Victoria was the name of either the mother or the wife of the man who started the company that became SAK.
