Custom slipjoint folders.
Traditional but Custom!
Here's a family portrait of all my custom slipjoint knives.
Top left is an HJ by Gene Shadley, then going down, seven Bill Ruples.
Top right, two by Tony Bose ( an early pearl, and a recent HJ). Next a Richard Rogers Sowbelly, then four by Terry Davis. Finally, a pearl quill and a large "backpocket" by Dan Burke. Hope you like 'em!

Dang Charlie,

.
She may be full of silicon but WOW, I never miss an appointment, only 2 appointments left
(in my dreams
).
Oh yeah, those knifes
, where have you been hiding those. Those are an awesome set of knives. Thanks for sharing! Great looking knives, need close-ups.

Dear Santa,
I have been very good this year, I have not lusted after too many knives like I did in the past..
So since I have such a good boy please steal uhhh I mean borrow Charlies custom made Harness Jacks (See attached picture) for me this Christmas, he told me I can borrow them when I want to. If it's easier for you I will take them out of season as well.
Yours truly,
Sunburst

Dang Charlie you have been truly working very hard to have all of them.
I think it is time for me to start working on some thing like this.
I will have to stop buying so many knives and stay focused on a goal.
Can you tell me how do they do such a good job cutting out for the shields ?

extremely nice
Charlie.
This was enough to push me over the edge, I think I'll make a couple slipjoints when I get the time and try selling them.

Blades
Here are some of the blades, as promised. I also have a collection of teeth I had to pull, to get these guys to make a punch blade
!
Seriously, it takes so much more time, most makers are reluctant, but these are great examples of their work. They are all prototypes, except the Star-shield HJ, which is a variation of the first one (stag below).
Clockwise from the bottom, Ruple, Bose, Davis, Shadley, Ruple.

Justold, they all have their secrets for setting the shields. Some by hand, some with router jigs. I've never asked!!??
MM, if you get inspired to do an HJ, drop me an email!!
Sunburst, I guess it is the highest praise that you would try to bribe/influence Santa! Fortunately, I was waiting for him with cookies and milk, and he backed off
!!!
Happy New Year to all!

Charlie, I will, I'm thinking a schatt type punch should be in my range of experience/tools. I don't have anything to cut the very narrow hollows with, but I bet I can do a schatt punch.
