We've discussed member Rayban's (Rick Garcia) work here recently, but I have to show you a project he did for me. A project so big, it too two of our fine forum-member craftsmen to complete.
The knife: A Case Desert Prince, the only production Persian Fighter I know of. Wasn't in production long, and one look should tell you this item would be coming back to the factory very often for warranty work. That long, slender tip is certain to bend and break. But the knife is a looker and works well for my task for it: Cleaning rabbits.
The factory sheath was crap But seeng as how I didn't have one anyway, it was time to find a maker. Hence my dealing with Rick. I sent him the knife, asked if he could somehow come up with a design with a slight arabian look about it. I asked for no drawings, no photos... always best to not restrain a craftsmen in any way. I knew I was in for something special when Rick told me he wanted to send the sheath to Mike Pardue in Texas for a silver tip. I had no idea what was up, but I sent a check and he sent the knife.
Got it today. Oh yeah. It's almost too good for the rabbit thickets. But it begs to be strapped on a belt and carried afield, preferably while the knife bearer is saddled up on a camel, rifle slung across the back, and off to the local oasis to make a little time with the local Bedouin wenches.
Thanks Rick, Thank you Mike.

Take that rig out in the woods and do some rabbit hunting. Life is too short to hunt with ugly guns or knives. Glad your pleased with this sheath, it does look really nice. I wasnt sure what it was going to look like. I hope to be able to do some other project like this with Rick, its cool to see what a couple of guys can come up with. Take er easy my friend, I hope your hunting season is a good one.
