Resale certificate or licence in our case. The seller is supposed to collect state sales tax and remit to the state.
I'm not sure what you do if anything for out of state sales, where the buyer is from a different state than the seller. I'm sure the Franchise Tax Board will be happy to answer any questions you have.
Just asked my wife; here it's the State Board of Equalization that you report sales tax to.

In California the Franchise Tax Board does not gurantee that their answers are correct, just like the IRS does not guarantee their answer if you call with a question.gmusic wrote:Resale certificate or licence in our case. The seller is supposed to collect state sales tax and remit to the state.

Thats great isnt it,!?!?! this has been my experience dealing with them that some worker know and some don't. You have to be a lawyer to understand tax laws.Hukk wrote:In California the Franchise Tax Board does not gurantee that their answers are correct, just like the IRS does not guarantee their answer if you call with a question.gmusic wrote:Resale certificate or licence in our case.
