It's the kind of knife that's so good in every way it makes me really like a modern OHO. That is rare.jerryd6818 wrote:Love the handles on that Benchmade.

Yes. Technically a 710-1401 if you want to look it up. For some reason all the 710's are being discontinued, so I grabbed a different one after I traded away my regular 710.ken98k wrote:Is that bechmade a 710?KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:Came home briefly during lunch and lookey what I found

That's interesting, I have a Case camo that looks very much like the bottom of the 3. I'll have to dig it out tonight and compare.TripleF wrote:These 3 little Gerbers arrived moments ago....

I have a little camo case that looks like that gerber as well, I think it's a copy of the gerber. Kind of like how the case mako is their answer to a buck 110. Can't argue with copying a good design.

Mail's here. Imperial Hammer Brand Jack with those forged look blades. Good snap and fairly large at 3-15/16" closed (measured). Tang stamp says it's c.1956-1988.
It's in pretty nice condition for a cheapie.
Forged on the anvil of discipline.

This 13 really is nice, pull isn't too hard, smooth action, pinches open if you want. Great stag, not too thick in the middle, deep groovy, bumpy, lots of great contour that not only looks good, but really aids grip. Nice size, not too big, heavy, not too small to get a full tight grip if you need. Great knife if you like Congress stuff.

Very nice #13. GEC knows how to make a great knife. I love the look of the congress pattern but just can't get use to carrying one.Ivoryman wrote:This 13 really is nice, pull isn't too hard, smooth action, pinches open if you want. That composite Gerber looks like it might be the lightweight version of the Folding Sportsman, which has been around since the 1970s.ken98k wrote:Similar but not the same. I wonder who copied who?
I am not really clear on when the Case lockbacks began production, however.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
PIcked up several knives over the past couple of weeks but been too busy with work to take pics. But this one I had to find some time to share because it came with a good story. Had some email exchange with the seller post purchase. She said it belonged to her neighbor of 22 years who recently passed away at age 86, and he owned it since it was new. Also said it was a prized possession of his and witness him use it often over the years they lived next door to him. I could tell she was probing to see if it was going to a good home and informed her it was going into a collection with many other Old Timers and be well cared for.
After getting it, giving it a overnight soak in penetrating oil, a good cleaning, and a new edge on the clip blade I just might have to put this one in my EDC selection to honor the original owner.
