Case "Craftsman" Trapper Knives

Post by jabberwocky »

I've just acquired two new Case Trapper model knives, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little about their value or collectibility,
or even if they're "rare" models of any kind, or just some sort of "special
run" made for Sears/Craftsman.

Both knives are Trappers, with jigged redbone handles, "Case XX" oval logo in script inset into the handles. Each knife also has a black oval logo
with "Craftsman" in script inset on the same side as the "Case" logo.

Each knife came in a "Craftsman" vintage-styled tin, with a small
Craftsman keychain included. I have a nice-sized personal collection of
pocket knives (USA Schrades, Kabars, and about a dozen various Case
pocket knives) that I'll add these two Trappers to. I was just curious if
anyone was familiar with these knives, their origin, etc. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the site jabberwocky. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question, but there are many knowledgable collectors here who I'm sure will be able to. Just wanted to welcome you. :) s-k

I'm borrowing this from another forum, in the interest of helping someone new...

Right from Shirley Boser...the Case Historian (and Bryan's friend... ).

Thanks for the welcome, Smiling Knife. I'm looking forward to
learning quite a bit about my "new" hobby from this forum.

And thanks very much for forwarding the info, El Lobo. It was
exactly what I was looking for. Now I know a little more about
these two knives.
