case knife ?

I have a case knife it was made in 1977 numbers are 5111 1/2 LSSP it has stag handles and blue scroll work on one side of the blade
can anyone tell me how many were made and what the value would be
sorry no pics my son broke my camera

welcome will. parker's latest shows $225 for a factory mint. condition makes a lot of difference. $225 is not a real world price imo.

Hi Will, welcome to the forum. That is 1 of 8 different (folding) knives that came in the 1977 Blue Scroll set. There were quite a few sets made up but I can't tell you exactly how many. They also made a 1977 Blue Scroll engraved bolster set. Those sets were even less in number. It is a great knife but I too believe 225.00 is a little high. I would say fair market value would be 160.00-180.00. I base this on a few I have seen sell on ebay the last few years. Kelley

PS. They also made 4 fixed blade knives with the blue scroll etch in 1977.

There were 15,000 standard sets made and 1,000 engraved sets that were also serial numbered. I agree the current "real world" buying price for the 5111 1/2 is around 175.00.

We should really get in touch with the guy who wrote the book and let him know that the prices that he put in the book are higher than "real world" prices.

I've been looking for that guy myself! Heard a rumor that he sold a bunch of knives at the "book" price and skipped the country.
