Buck Kalinga 1970's stamp

Post by Hukk »

I have this 1970's Buck Kalinga with the black micarta handles and 440C steel blade.

I have owned several Kalinga knives over the years, even other 1970's knives. But this is the first knife I've seen that has the stamping upside down compared to the other 20 or so Buck Kalinga's I've owned.

Does anyone know what the upside down stamping means? Does it indicate a time frame or ? Any Buck collectors out there have an answer? Thanks in advance!

Click twice on the pictures to enlarge them and see the markings.

I don't really know. They started making these in 1967, maybe it's older than I think, a 60's knife? ::shrug::

Thanks johnnie, I will call, I've handled a lot of those, never seen an upside down stamp like that before. That's why I was thinking maybe 60's. ::shrug::
