Lots of folks try to pull the slide back with their off hand. Instead, hold the slide with the off/weak hand, lock strong hand elbow at strong-side hip and push through with the strong hand on the grip, using lower body strength to do the work (turn the hips). Just be sure to keep the muzzle pointed down range. I've successfully taught women (including my sister who previously insisted she could not rack the slide on any semi-automatic) this technique.
