Good info and appreciate it Ken. Love to hear stuff from those who know what I never even thought of yet. Thanks. Whole new view of this kind of thing now.

We have Matching "Matching Pairs" Kerry ::nod::
1982 8 dot lightening bolts.
I have matching numbers 1194.
However, I do not remember where or when I obtained them. Mid 80s I assume.
Anyone know how many were made ::shrug::

That's cool, there's another set on eBay right now but broken up. These were to, I had to win 2 auctions to get the set. I was told they were a SFO. But I don't know how many were made.

Glad to see you were able to get both auctions and keep the matching numbers together. Otherwise they would never see each other again. ::tear::
Good job in preserving history. ::tu::

Yes I hate when sets get busted up. I have a stag gator toothpick that lost its mate along the way and it is a shame.

Both good looking knives. Curious, was the bail an option?

A bail was at one time an optional available on every pocket knife Case made. Older Case catalogs stated any knife could be ordered with a bail for an added cost, which was minimal. In Sargent's 7th edition there is a picture of a wonderful old Case retail, display cabinet from the Tested era, in which every knife on the display board has a bail.

Ha ha, thanks Q, that's funny. This pattern and blade is a beauty for sure, can't believe they don't do more 77 singles, and Wharns of course. Best looking Barlows I have ever seen. Rarely do I get two of anything, but this one I should have gotten 3. Great set of three you have on the other thread. And good investment, I see these going on the bay for about double what they were new. I know why.
