Got this Parker Eagle Brand Hawbaker Muskrat the other day. I had to work down the pins a bit to make them flush with the bone. I hate high pins.
Made in Japan. Anybody know when these were made?

The few Parkers I have of a similar vintage were sold by Jr. Parker so I do put some measure of trust in his dating, which IIRC range from early to late 1980s? That's where I'd ballpark your knife, maybe mid-late 80s (I think Parker-Eagle was a bit later than some of my Parker only knives). I could be way off base, so please take it for what it's worth -- my opinion plus $4.50 won't even get you a large triple-shot at the 'buck.

I have noticed that the smooth bone Parkers are usually pretty well flush but the jigged and stag are almost always well-raised.

I still have more knives I want to photograph when I've got some daylight but I haven't posted in so long that I decided to share the last few I received. The new AAPK knives (green not pictured) and this little Wyeth pen from Scott (TripleF) - he sure does have an eye for cell. This one is a little knockout. It'll have to live with my few other cell knives in felt-lined isolation but it seems old and stable enough to be a minimal risk for outgassing. Knock wood this one will be a looker for years to come. Thanks, Bryan and Scott!

I always check out "Mail Call" and once in a while I get to participate.
Been anticipating these for a few days, they came all the way from Kansas thanks to "stockman". I'm well pleased with these knives and if you'll notice the blades all appear to full, if they've been sharpened somebody did it right as far as protecting the blades.
The Purina knife reminded me that as a little boy, we had "Checker board feed" delivered to the farm. I remember the 5 cent Coke machines and how hard it was to get the older folks to buy one for me, most of the time. The Winchester Trapper is very nice, most say it was made for Bluegrass by Queen and then there are some other opinions .

I think this style of knife was more suited to the fly fishing angler but of course not exclusively.
It's a well made knife. The covers, which are plastic, started to "craze" or crack very finely a long time ago.
It's hardly noticeable unless your up close and is not active. The covers are still solid. I love the angling/fishing world and its
tackle, knives and books. The scissors usually go on these but the knife is in fine shape all the way around.
Case has something similar.
