Some,"Floaters"

Here are some pictures of knives I like to call,"floaters".They usually come with either an oversized wooden handle or one made from cork.There are fixed blades as well as folding versions.
The first one is marked,"C.E.M.Maniago"and operates much like a Barry Wood folder.The sequence is initiated by pulling the handles slightly apart;disengaging the lock pin and rotating one handle.At approximately 180 degrees the blade is rotated out and at 360 degrees the lock pin re-engages.The blade is a combination knife,scaler,hook disgorger,and gaff.

Next is a cork handled Colonial knife.Only one I've ever seen and it is like new.Not sure of the age.

Next is an odd shaped cork handled one made by Cressi of Italy.The sheath is plastic and the blade is sharpened on the inside of the curve and has a small sharpened edge on the scaler side.The pommel end has a cap lifter built in.

Next is a Japanese made floating fish knife with a solid but light wood handle painted to look like a bobber.

Next is a folding knife/gaff made by LunaWerk in Italy.Not a very good design as the knife blade is set low into the handle with a strong back spring and almost impossible to open easily.

Next is an over-sized cork handled dagger sharp on one side and serrated on the other made by R.J.Richter;again from Italy.

Last is a 3 bladed cork handled knife;unusual in that it has a clip blade,a combination scaler,hook disgorger,and file blade and on the opposite side what looks like a long leather punch.Have no idea what that is for unless when you get P*&%ed off at the fish you can stab him to death.

There is another one but I believe I posted pics of it elsewhere.It is a KA-BAR with a cork handle and a large slot cut into the blade where the fuller would normally be.
