What do you mean by frame? Scales?

Which pattern is it? I thought it might be a 33 but I've never seen a 33 with a spear master, and on second look it doesn't seem to be serpentine.

It's a swell center, and the only portion I can read on the back is 2042?

I just got the mail and received 4 pocket knives I will use as giveaways. They are from various countries and I also received the tiniest Bowie knife I have ever seen.

It's made by Elosi in Germany and it only measures 4 inches.

Nothing special about it otherwise but I couldn't resist it as it "spoke" to me somehow.
I will present it as a novelty gift for an American friend who collects Bowies.

Now off to pick up a couple of Swedish pocket knives!

On many occasions I have cursed myself when I have forgotten to bring a knife and so have many friends of mine. So I try to have a few spare folders in the car or boat and when people comment on me bringing a knife (which actually has been illegal for a while but not any more) I hand them one as a nice gesture and perhaps also to get started in a a knife talk.

It is also good to have a small folder at hand when kids want to help out, to teach them a little about how to handle a knife.

And as you say, it will help to boost interest in our hobby.

Commenting on the little Boker that Glenbad just mentioned, it almost looks like the Case 109X except for the bolster shape on the little end.
Scott always comes up with some interesting knives!

Last three goodies for the month came in today.

*Walden 897UH with jimped liners, paperwork, and hinged box. S# 53366, possible 1st or 2nd year production? Wasn't in the market for one, but found it listed dirt cheap so I jumped on it.

*Picked up another Schrade/N.Y. U.S.A. 108OT with box, sleeve, and papers. I sniped it on a feebay auction at the last second and scored it for $15.50. Wasn't in the market for one of these either, but thought I couldn't pass it up if I could get it cheap.

*Me thinks this one is an EOD knife. Has the Copenhagen shield that isn't stamped, black Delrin, and brass bolsters. With a 8OT blade instead of the Cope marked blade. Think I might collect more of these EOD Schrades as long as I can get em cheap. May not be that valuable in the long run, but cool to have for a historical purpose.

This one came today. A Case Russlock.
I had one of these and sold it. Don't remember why I sold it....maybe it was the handles. Who knows.
I saw this one on a dealer site and decided I made a mistake selling the one I had.....so.....this one arrived today. I will keep this one!

Beautiful case bdev, it's a keeper!

Today I received a very special knife. My "holy grail", a schrade cut co 8813 in beautiful shape. The 8813 is the predecessor to the 881, same knife different pattern number. It has very nice f&f, a hard snapper and wonderful dark peachseed bone. The edges appear to be unsharpened, they have the carachteristic factory grind marks. I will sharpen it up to snuff and it will be carried occasionally but I'm going to preserve it in the condition it's in otherwise. If I could only have the proverbial "one knife" this is it.

I've never handled a Russlock. Will have to try one out, when I go to the knife show in March. The color sort of reminds me of the Strawberry Robeson I just got. Very nice!

The Russlock is an acquired taste. It wants to be a one hand opener but it takes a lot of practice to get it right. I'm still working on it.
It feels great in the hand and has a nice balance.
