Thanks. The walk and talk is quite good. Great snap. Some blade wobble but that's to be expected. The pen blade is missing its tip but I'm leaving this one just as is. Has lots of character. I really like the model 10 and buy up as many as I can. Have 2 more on the way. Another with Rogers bone and one with Winterbottom delrin.

These would have arrived yesterday but required a signature confirmation so I picked them up at the post office this morning, I should have a couple more knives when I get home though These ones are as follows: Schrade cut co sleeveboard jack, this one is really nice, near perfect f&f and is just a very classy looking knife. Schrade walden 4" peachseed stock, main is tipped a bit with slight wobble and some small bone and backspring gaps but I'm very glad to have got it and with full blades! Last one is a schrade 863 whittler, this is an exceptionally useful and convenient to carry pattern (same as camillus 72) and has typical schrade f&f and characteristics, so it's a good one!

Found this new Case SELECT carpenters whittler misadvertised on eBay ... so I got it at a bargain !! Great fit and finish ... I'm becomming a fan of the Selects.

I came home and round two of knives were waiting for me! GEC northfield 42 in blood red bone and my first ever custom knife, a ken coats barehead jack. For a single blade medium size knife this coats is perfectly proportioned and nicely made. The other two are hum drum old timers, but I still like 'em. Both are minty unsharpened, only the yella one will stay that way.

It's sick. I finally got a brown bone '84 Heritage Barlow and all it's done is make me ravenous to find a green bone Barlow and a few others. Now, having seen that muskrat, I think I have another to add to the list.

So much for a smaller knife budget in 2017.

You pulled down an incredible array of blades, KS, well done! I can't even really see the blunted tip on that peachseed stock, and the blades are delightfully full. I'd be proud to carry it. I'll bet you can sharpen up a tip in next to no time.

Speaking of which, I have had absolutely NO TIME whatsoever to photograph the new arrivals so I will drop a little sneak preview in hopes that, when it arrives, I will make the time to photograph some of the knives that have come in over the last two weeks. After much haranguing by AAPK in thread after thread, I finally secured my first Camillus 72.

Some might recall seeing this model posted by me previously. But this is a newly arrived second purchase. My first green Utica was lost outside for days, in the rain and snow. When recovered it was a pitiful sight. My barlow collection looks better with this newbie.

Holy moly there are lots of Schrades on here lately. I love it. Paul, those old ones really have a lot of character to the bone handles. Cool GEC 42 also, and that barehead jack is quite impressive.

John, that Case Select whittler looks like it's ready for work. I've always liked that style of knife.

Kerry, I don't blame you wanting more of those. That green bone is killer.

QuickSteel, everyone loves a good barlow knife. That one certainly does have bright colored handles.

Dan, the color and jigging in those old Keen Kutters is just amazing. I especially like that lobster style one.

This is a new one for me, the newly released Tuna Valley Cattleman in burnt stag. It's made really beefy, tight and strong, and the snap will kill you if you aren't ready!

The Utica Barlows of recent vintage sure do look good. I just wish their QC were a little more consistent. My twin of yours has picked up a bit of blade wobble -- which is probably my #1 pet peeve on any folder, especially of recent vintage -- under basically light-to-nonexistent use. The sheepsfoot Barlow seems a little more well-built and locks up solid, but the bone on one side is noticeably thinner and actually meets the bolster too low to cover the whole cross-section, so there's a noticeable bolster "lip" on one side. Only cosmetic problems on this knife, though. The knife was tipped when I got it from its first owner, but still sharp and I plan to eventually sharpen it back to a tip over time.

The feeling you get when an anticipated knife shows up with play in the blade is truly hateful. While there does appear to be a tangible difference in the QC rates of the products from Utica and makers like Case, Queen, Boker (Solingen), et al., I realize that pretty much every knife brand has its moments. I just received an "unused" Buck 2-dot 110 but it's got that absolutely "barely but it's there" play to it when locked open. Every last 110 and 112 I have besides this one locks up vise-tight and I already have a hard-use 2-dot with an ever-so-slightly bent forward third of a blade. Again, "barely there" but I see it. It doesn't impact the knife for EDC in the slightest so I bought a bolt-on thumb stud and turned it into a worker and EDC.

I'm probably going to send the "new" one back even though I was dumb tonight and missed out on a perfectly reasonable price for a very good 2-dot because of the football game and my dinner order...long story.

And hey, my new stock hardwood Utica trapper (clocking in at a surprisingly convenient 3⅞" in length) is one of the nicest knives I've seen under $50.

George, the 108OT was the first knife I bought when I got out of the Corps. I carried it for quite a few years and still have it. Until I started picking up other knives and paying more attention to them, I never considered the 108OT to be "cute". It's a great little carry knife and did everything I ever asked it to do.

Here's a Queen City 3" Sleeveboard. The shield is an "add on" from some previous proud owner. The bone is pretty good but has a crack on the pile side. Blades have seen better days but also give this knife a unique character. It was made 1925-33. Got this one a few days ago.
