I emailed him 'bout a year or so ago to explain to him the problems and condition of a Baby Ruth Remington knife he was selling. He reported it was refurbished by a well known cutlery expert and "restored" to original condition. His listing was extremely high and very much outside the market for such a knife but insisted that because it was restored by this man that it was worth the asking price. It was on eBay for a very long time and my intent was to explain why the knife was no longer "original" since it was refurbished regardless of who restored the knife and offered him suggestions on more reasonable and still profitable market prices. His response was scathing, not well received and he was so angry that he blocked me from his auctions. Some dogs are better left to sleep on the front porch!

Charlie you should have become a farmer.
You find after a while you see a bit of crap on the ground you recognise what animal had wondered on you land.
I did purchase a knife from this person a few years back offered a reasonable price seeing the postage was too high.
He came back with some stupid offer.I sent him a message and told him to have a more reasonable postage price and I would make a better offer.
He uses the charity bit to try to get more money from people with less complaints.(they work on peoples good nature thinking the extra money they pay is helping the less fortunate )
All the charitable people I know are kind hearted and don't offend anyone.

I'm in the process of trying to make contact with the quadriplegic Special Forces Soldier.

I want to ask him if he knows this man or any of the other people shown on that website and whether or not he is affiliated in any way with the Door in The Wall, Texas charity.

If Kessler has just appropriated Castillo's history and photographs for his own purposes and Castillo is unaware of it, I'm going to sic the entire Army Special Forces Community on him and they are extremely tenacious and not at all forgiving about that kind of stuff.

Here's hoping...

Just saw this as I have been away... sorry you are going through this crap Charlie with that POS... but in all honesty his comments about you "not knowing crap" are so far from the truth that it holds no water from those of us who know you through the forum... and no doubt there appears to be something fishy about the whole charity scenario... I just find it so hard to believe that this arrogant, rude POS has a "real" charity....

"You do know that knife is a reproduction made and marketed by Queen Cutlery Co. its less then 10 years old"

Maybe I will get the knife at the correct price ::woot:: ::groove::

No. You won't.

What you will probably get is a response calling you a boneheaded fool.

Mr. Kessler is a man of limited vocabulary and few words.

Yes, I know that's redundant.

Charlie,
After all his insults toward you, you should charge him $125; your minimum fee for authenticating a Robeson! ::nod:: ::nod::

Earlier today, I read this entire thread. I find this turn of events.... astonishing. Has he forgotten?

Side note:
Charlie, I just read on your Robeson page about your SF service in RVN and what you did upon returning home. Very impressive! Thanks for serving!

Charlie - while you may have been informed that you don't know crap, do you know the entire story of Jack Crap?

Jack Crap is the only son of O. Crap and Awe Crap. O. Crap, the fertilizer magnate, married Awe Crap, who later ran the KNEEDEEP INN--CRAP. Jack Crap eventually married Noe Crap, and together they produced six children. Holy Crap, their first child, passed on shortly after birth. Next came twin sons, Deep Crap and Dip Crap, and then two daughters, Fulla Crap and Giva Crap. Their final child, another son, was named Bull Crap. By and by Deep Crap married Dumb Crap, a high school dropout. Dip Crap married Lotta Crap, and they have a son, Chicken Crap. Fulla Crap and Giva Crap married the Happens Brothers. The Crap Happens children are Dawg Crap, Byrd Crap, and Horace Crap. Bull Crap just married a spicy number, Piesa Crap, and they're awaiting the arrival of Baby Crap.

So, now you not only know Jack Crap, but his entire family.

I think this sellers "charity" is all about him. Pays his bills and pads his bankroll. I see nothing charitable about the way he conducts his eBay business or himself. There is precious little information available on the net about what he provides to anyone in need. His pricing on eBay is nothing short of ridiculous.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Thought I would add a little history to a serious subject so that: "We can all know Crap".

Manure: (Crap) In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything
had to be transported by ship and it was also before
commercial fertilizer's invention, so large shipments
of manure were common. It was shipped dry, because
in dry form it weighed a lot less than when wet, but
once water hit it, it not only would it become heavier,
but the process of fermentation began again, of which
a by product is methane gas. As the stuff was stored
below decks in bundles you can see what could (and did)
happen. Methane began to build up below decks and the first time
someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was
determined just what was happening.

After that, bundles of manure were always stamped with
the term "Ship High In Transit" on them, which meant that it
should be stowed high enough off the lower decks so that
any water that came into the hold would not touch this volatile
cargo and start the production of methane.

Thus evolved the term "S.H.*.T " , (Ship High In Transport)
which has come down through the centuries and is now in common use as a most descriptive noun and expletive.
It's always important to know what you don't know.

Snopes says the above is false. The term SH*T did not originate from Ship High In Transit.
Here's what they say....
The word sh*t entered the modern English language via having been derived from the Old English nouns scite and
the Middle Low German schite, both meaning "dung," and the Old English noun scitte, meaning "diarrhea." Our most treasured cuss word has been with us a long time, showing up in written works both as a noun and as a verb as far back as the 14th century.

Scite can trace its roots back to the proto-Germanic root skit-, which brought us the German scheisse, Dutch schijten, Swedish skita, and Danish skide. Skit- comes from the Indo-European root skheid- for "split, divide, separate," thus sh*t is distantly related to schism and schist. (If you're wondering what a verb root for the act of separating one thing from another would have to do with excrement, it was in the sense of the body's eliminating its waste — "separating" from it, so to speak. Sort of the opposite of today's "getting one's sh*t together.")

What does this have to do with knives????? Absolutely nothing but it's interesting!

I too read the entire thread and this guy's a piece of work. Personally I might have forgiven 1 episode to try and be the better man but he's way past that point.

If it were me I would do one of two things...

1. Tell him to pound sand. And I wouldn't say it that nicely either.
2. Assume that he's not only rude but has a bad memory and undervalue the knife appraisal 10 times what it's worth. Then see how he posts his Auction.

I coulda sworn I read this back in 2013 or so.
