I never said he had good judgement and never will. He ruined a perfectly good rifle for no good reason. It's just a true story that I thought I'd share.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
In 2017 I plan to get one of those .410, 45 pistols. S&W if I can hack it and Taurus if not.
I once got to shoot the slickest Ruger Security Six. I would LOVE to have had that gun as my own!

You won't go wrong with the Taurus Judge 4510TKR-3SS Revolver. Another buddy and I bought one as a birthday present for our compadre and he loves it. I've shot it and it's good for what it's made for, close range. I believe we paid approximately $450 - $500 (I've seen them online for less).Just Plain Dave wrote:In 2017 I plan to get one of those .410, 45 pistols. S&W if I can hack it and Taurus if not.

The oldest two boys (11 & 9) and I just came in. We took the S&W 65 out in the yard and. I introduced them to the .357. They both liked it. But the 9 year old touched off the first one and a grin came on his face that went from ear to ear. Lol. He's an addict I think. Here it is again.

Let him shoot a S&W 500. That will cure him quick and dandy. The fun is done after the first three rounds.

I looked at both Taurus and the Smith and Wesson Governor. Went with the Governor as you can see by my avatar. Can also shoot .45 auto with moon clips. Like the fact it takes 3 different ammo types. Small enough to conceal carry also. My desert feral dog gun.jerryd6818 wrote:You won't go wrong with the Taurus Judge 4510TKR-3SS Revolver. I watched R. Lee Ermy shoot one on TV once. They did a slomo of it after his first shot and his arm, bones and all were like a sine wave. No thanks. I think I'll just stay out of territory where ya have to use one of those.jerryd6818 wrote:Let him shoot a S&W 500. That will cure him quick and dandy. The fun is done after the first three rounds.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
My ex-s-I-L had bought one and we shot it while down home over Thanksgiving. My grandsons, then around 10 & 12, were hot to shoot anything that went bang or boom. They pulled the trigger once and handed it back. I shot two cylinders and that was waaaaaaaay too much.

Yes Sir Jerry D. Not for the "recoil sensitive" for sure.jerryd6818 wrote:My ex-s-I-L had bought one and we shot it while down home over Thanksgiving. My son had one a few years back. 5 shot as I recall. 3 foot flame visible in daylight. He dared me to one hand a full wheel and I did. Does test your wrist and arm bones for sure.

Re: Guns & Gun Related Stuff
Very cool Wade. Love to hear a story like that. Keep up the good work my friend. Reminds me of the 4 .308 rounds my 8 year old grandson put thru my custom .308 on his birthday in October. He wanted to try 400 yards first three shots and came pretty darn close to a hit, " go big or go home" I guess. Last shot at 100 yards he nailed the 12 inch plate. Will never forget that look on his face no matter how many years pass.Colonel26 wrote:The oldest two boys (11 & 9) and I just came in. We took the S&W 65 out in the yard and. Thanks Dogg and Jerry. Mine usually stays at home unless it's in the field just like you. I do really enjoy shooting revolvers though. For toting around the 1911 is just a lot more comfortable and mo boolets.garddogg56 wrote:Wade and Ray very nice wheel gunsI only use mine as a side arm while hunting afta that she's for second floor home Defence .Wade and Jerry nothing like getting them young ones out to shoot,my 8yo grandson loves .22's.
My boys love their 22's too. We have a lot of fun shooting their rifles. Growing up we never shot unless we were hunting. And the only handgun dad ever had was an old 9 shot 22 that we never got to shoot much. Me, i try to get the boys shooting as many different things as possible as often as possible.
