#74? Ancient green bone? AAPK knife?

::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

I KNEW something good was going to happen when I begrudgingly declined to order a #74 from this year's run. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

I will take an antique autumn bone whenever they are available.

Should someone make it clear that this isn't a reservation thread???

I'm anticipating some trouble down the road with this thread, I think folks see the title and think it's an official order thread.

Excellent point Eric! ::tu::

THIS IS NOT THE AAPK 2016 CLUB KNIFE ORDER THREAD!
Just because you signed up on this thread does not mean you have ordered a knife!

This was never intended to be an official order thread.
What I posted on page 1 was:
orvet wrote: What might be helpful is everyone who can commit to purchasing a 2016 AAPK knife, post in this topic that you would like a 2016 AAPK club knife.

That way Bryan will have a rough idea of how many knives are spoken for.
But if he holds true to form I am sure he’s already ordered the 2016 knives.

Bryan said he placed the order in early September but GEC has been busy. We do not know when the knives will be finished, perhaps in a couple of weeks or as late as January 17th. (See philco’s post on page 3 of this topic.)

I expect the knives will be sold through the AAPK Knives & Apparel store, I believe that is how they are usually sold.

But until there is an official announcement from Bryan directly or from Phil or myself (philco or orvet) at Bryan’s direction, we will have to be content with this unofficial threat.

The biggest holdup at this point seems to be production at Great Eastern Cutlery. The last production schedule update that I see on Great Eastern’s website was from October 26, 2016. There was nothing posted for November or December of this year.
Apparently they are a bit behind schedule.

I know there are a lot of people who want to be sure that they get this year’s knife but at this point we do not know if production has even started on this order.

I will try to update this topic as soon as I hear anything from Bryan.

Alright Dale and as I posted earlier in this thread...I will take one of each....LOL ::shrug::

Just kidding...I only hope that I am available when the announcement comes out. I haven't missed a single AAPK knife yet, and I certainly do not want this year to be the first...

Tommy, according to what Bryan told me, the AAPK knife will have a single clip blade rather than the cotton sampler blade shown in the photo Steve provided a link to above. Frame will be the same, but with bone handles and a clip blade. They're gonna look gooooooooooood.

Hey, I just had an idea. Have you thought of calling GEC and asking them when the knife is going on the production schedule? If anyone knows it should be them.
