I'm a new member and have found myself pulling old family knives out of the woodwork. The second blade just popped off in my hands 15 yrs ago & I thought I might die. I'm looking for some history about the knife, maybe I can find a donor & replace that old blade, or not-It's grandad's and not pristine either way. I noticed a member 9Ball posted about one.

There is a complete book about this company. Kinda hard to find sometimes but it really is a great history. It has ties to many other companies as well. Vignos was a Civil war hero as well. THey made a lot of knives and specialized in the picture handled versions. Although the celuloid is very corrisive and must be watched carefully. This is an older knife and you should be able to buy a similar version on ebay and have the blade replaced to keep it somewhat original. Contact MUskrat man when you have a blade. He does great work
