Delicate restoration Scout knives

Restored a couple BSA knives with faint tang stamps....one a CASE XX 1914 - 1920 and a Hammer Brand NY Knife.

Was very careful not to remove the stamping ON THE BLADE of the Hammer Brand....faint as it was.

Well done cleaning here Scott. I like your results better than the shiny "Professional" cleaning. Would you mind sharing the various steps you took to clean these knives ?

I agree with Rowland, bring these back to life without over polishing is true preservation rather than making them "shiney to sell". Great work Scott, your techniques, patience and elbow grease are evident. Tom

Thanks Joe! I have 2 different types of cleaning:
1). Presentable - rust, and minor pitting removed (looks like knives above).
2). Super shiny like new - lots of elbow grease and different grits of sandpaper from 300 to 5000.

Sometimes.....SHINY is the only way to go! Took me a long time to make that knife look like that and I think it sold for like $10.00

Just the right amount of cleaning. Looks nicer
but you did not destroy aged beauty of the material.

Used but in great shape.
