Info on 3 knife companies(wholesalers)wanted

In going through a bunch of my older knives I came across three names that have me baffled. I have checked all of my resource books(more than a few)and even tried Googling the names all for naught.Hopefully someone on the board here may have some info.

The names are as follows:

Adams & Bro(ther?)

R Thomson & Co

W&G Vogel Vohwinkel (on two lines;I think the last may be a town)

All are small pearl scaled knives;the first two may be English. The fonts look to be turn of the century(1900).

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

OK I compiled some pictures and the list has grown a bit.Here we go:

This one is only a partial but it says(I think)," F.D.BASTI(? on the last letter)

Adams & Bro Germany

Wahkonsa Cutlery Co.(probably German)

Dame Smith & Hall Sheffield (I think the first letter is a D)

R Thomson & Co Germany

G&J Allen Superior Cutlery Unusual curved coping secondary blade and pique work on carved pearl scales.Small threaded bolster on one end only.Looks English.

Hi K7K. I haven't found anything on the Sheffield knife yet

. The last one shown has to be a repair of some kind. I can't imagine it was originally constructed like that

No doubt you have consulted BRLevine's 4th edtion. Wahkonsah is rated as highly collectible but no other information is given on the brand.
I find in C Houston Price's 'Official Guide' a listing for BASTIAN BROS in Rochester NY, 1895 to present (?).

I have not been much help here.

Thanks for the replies all.As for the repair on the pearl knife;it is constructed exactly the same on the other side with 2 pieces of pearl.

Gr8scout;I don't have either BRL's 4th of Price's guide(I have just about every other book printed

)but will try and pick up copies.I also found another Thomson knife in my collection as I was going through and updating.

You can ask him yourself, just go to the following link and post those pics. There are quite a few folks there as well as Mr Levine who are knowledgeable about the older German and British knives.
