Re: Matchng Pairs
Mason, that is a nice pair of Schrade Cut Co knives.
Joe, your Pressbutton knives are beautiful and look identical except for the size. Also like the autumn coloring in the handle.

Re: Matchng Pairs
My submission today for a matching pair. Just picked up the Opinel #2 to go along with my #13. Had some fun posing it with an oversize penny.

Re: Matchng Pairs
Goldpan - Those LF&C knives light my fire. Interestingly enough they list them in their catalogs as "Ivoroy Celluloid" which makes me think they intentionally misspelled Ivory to be unique. I have dozens of LF&C celluloid knives and find it to be extremely stable and none have ever gassed-out.
Nice pair, thanks for sharing. Tom

Re: Matchng Pairs
Thanks Tom. One of them even has an etch on the master blade. Its hard to see but it says "Universal". The celluloid is so well done that it looks like ivory. It has a pattern to it that I don't see in French Ivory.

Re: Matchng Pairs
Keith that is an interesting set of duos there with the original wrappers and all. What are the dates on the 47's and 54's. Gotta be an interesting story behind those. How did you come by them.espn77 wrote:Thought maybe these belonged here.

Re: Matchng Pairs
The 47, 54 are 1976. "Billy Fred's" gun shop. In Amarillo TX. He owed it from 1969-1996. It sold then and is still called Billy Fred's but different owners. When he sold he forgot to put the inventory that was in the safes in his office on the sale sheet. So he drug everything home. About 3 years ago, my first gun show to set up at, he stopped by my table. Said he liked my display. Gave me his phone number and said call him after the show. I went to his house and his basement floor was covered in knives. All mint. 70-80 mostly. Stuff he thought was the best he pulled back and put in his office. That is the collection that super charged my collection. It was about 275 knives. I am forever indebted to him for the price he sold them to me for. That is how case sent him knives when he ordered them. I don't know if the packages are common or rare but I think they are cool.

Hot Dang! I knew there was going to be a good back story on those. I bet your eyes just about popped out of your head when you saw all those knives laying there. Very cool story Keith. Thanks for sharing that

I went with my father in law. They talked, I had to buy them after my drool was all over them. Lol. Stop by and see them Greg on your way back from California.
