Jerry D dropped this unexpected bomb on me today, caught me totally off guard and made my day! A great new Case workman's series blue delrin 6375! He was also kind enough to entrust me with the keeping of a set of MPC's....Military Payment Certificates from Vietnam...I am honored and grateful, thanks much Jerry, I am struggling to find the words. Much appreciated to say the least.

(Oh yeah, can't forget the bright little LED flashlight the was tucked into the package as well... Sofia Rose had laid claim to that one for her bedside. ..)

Hard to get those Marines. They are usually so well dug in. Mike, as I told you, my kids & grandkids have no appreciation for the MPC. I'm just glad I could find a reliable care giver.

Man, oh man....check this.

I've been trading the Mike(XX CASE XX) back and forth recently and I was scheduled to receive my first gunstock knife.
When the package arrive (9 x12 x 3) I knew there was more than a CASE XX gunstock included!

Thanks Mike, I am very honored and thankful!! ::ds:: ::tu::  ::tu::

Awesome job, Mike. And Scott, you've got yourself one beauty of a gunstock there. I love that Case burnt barnboard, got a medium stockman and a single-blade sowbelly in it. Congrats!

A Hawaiian bomb landed in Illinois yesterday and it wasn't a pineapple. QTCut5 surprised me with a Mark Knopfler CD titled "The Ragpicker's Dream". I was not familiar with this artist but I'm sure glad ~Q~ introduced us. Thank you very much ~Q~. I like it.

~Q~ don't you think "Quality Shoe" has a distinct "King of the Road" flavor to it?

King of the Road...Yup, I hadn't made that connection...but now that you mention it, it does indeed.

Glad it arrived in one piece and I'm glad you like it.

Fun fact: Mark Knopfler never uses a guitar pick. All those intricate blues riffs (eg. Hill Farmer's Blues) are just his magic fingers. (He's been doing it that way ever since he was the front man & lead guitarist for Dire Straits).

Cheers & Aloha,

He was also quite the fan of Chet Atkins, and collab'd with him on some stuff

Nice bomb! Knopfler and Lindsey Buckingham are among my favorite fingerpicking guitarists. The tone they wrestle out of their axes is about as good as it gets in rock music. Hope you enjoy it, Jerry, through I'm surprised his music managed to elude you! 8)

I'v been Bombed! Joe (FRJ) sent this lovely bone handled HOLLINGER FERMENT OHIO (1905-1958)! Great snap on this lil' darling means its going right in the pocket. It reminds me of a Remington, although there are no numbers on the reverse. Thanks Joe!

A little something came in the mail from a most generous AAPKer, Paul a.k.a. KnifeSlinger#81. Ever since it arrived, when I'm not flipping this lovely BenchMark itself, I've been banging the heck out of my hands with the trainer trying to figure out all sorts of new moves (already gave myself a "ding of honor" right on the knuckle with this sweet balisong today). I now feel like an official flipper! Just another example of how generous and amazing a place our little knife forum really is. ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks so much, Paul! ::handshake::

My buddies were here yesterday so I got all busy, sidetracked and forgot to check the mail. Remembered this morning when I rolled out at 0400. Lo and behold!! In front of my door was a cluster bomb from Scott (TripleF). You know, a box stuffed full of a little bit of everything. I've taken to calling it a "box of Scott". Seems to fit real well.

This particular "box of Scott" contained a couple of airline bottles of Maker's Mark bourbon (Mmmm, Mmm), a lanyard with a repurposed ½" socket on it, a keychain knife that had been cleaned up and repurposed into a Christmas Tree ornament (very clever), a "texting" ballpoint pen, a couple of pads of post-it notes and last but not least, a RR Half-Hawk (Loom Fixer), one of my favorite patterns.

Thank you Scott. You da man and I appreciate everything very much. ::tu::

I'm torn with the Maker's Mark. Enjoy them in the traditional way or park 'em up on my "love me" shelf and enjoy them for some time to come. I'm such a sentimental person that sometimes it's debilitating.
