Hi, I've accumulated a few knives over the years, but just jumped into collecting as a hobby about 6 months ago. I've made several mistakes on Ebay, have found several knives I like at local antique stores, and have exceeded any reasonable budget for awhile. I'm finding a need to narrow my collecting scope and my expenditure. It may be time to start reselling some of mine that don't fit my narrower scope, but I doubt I have anything of great value. Two areas I'm interested in are WWII theater knives and bone/stag handled utility/scout knives. The latter because I stumbled across one in an antique store, and posted a photo in another online forum that got the experts going. Turns out it's not all that, but it was exciting.
I live near Minneapolis, and am interested in sources in this area, including antique stores, estate sales, collection sales, and shows.

gbuskirk some times we all have to learn the hard way...
The more time you spend here the less errors you will make.
I am new too but we have some real good guys and girls here that will jump in and try to help you. Just ask first will help.
With your now narrower scope I hope you get some books that will help lots.
Welcome to AAPK. and if you go to shows get an AAPK hat. That way others will look for you to talk to.
