Is it blueberry time in New Hampshire, Glenn? Fine photo of a fine knife.
Interesting photos of the abalone and Grandpa, Charlie. The black background does focus the eye on the subject.
Ivoryman - nice!

Thanks, it is actually getting late in the season, but still great picking to be had. We'll probably go back out this weekend for more.Dinadan wrote:Is it blueberry time in New Hampshire, Glenn? Fine photo of a fine knife.

Blueberries get ripe a lot earlier down here. Our wild ones are very small indeed. I have sixteen bushes in my yard: they get ripe in May same as the wild ones.glennbad wrote:Thanks, it is actually getting late in the season, but still great picking to be had. Rookie, that's a fine bunch of bison!
You should title that photo "Chock Full O' Nuts".
Ivoryman, I'm with Rookie......that pic has an aura of Christmas about it. Nice shot!

Re: Knife Photography
Thanks guys, much appreciated. The only thing about it that bugs me is that the knives are upside down. I was laying this out with light coming from my open garage door, and the camera on a tripod just outside. And there was a big rain storm approaching, so I was strapped for time. The lighting wasn't working for me, so I ended up having to bring the camera inside and shoot towards the storm. In all the excitement, I forgot to rotate the knives to face the other way.
I think it still turned out pretty nice. But it's a pet-peeve of mine to have the tang's upside down in a photo.

Rookie, you obviously have the photo in digital format, rotate it 180 degrees using your photo manager and re-save it. See if that works. Just a thought.

I did try that, but with the perspective, it made it look like they were hanging off the ceiling.

This shot turned out pretty good......I was thinking about placing an arrowhead or a small dream catcher in the center.

That's a great shot of some even greater knives!!!
These aren't all as old as yours but there is a 10 dot (1970) and a no dots ('64 - '69) in there. This is an old shot that I took when I was just starting to photograph my collection.
