Tom, I thought that was an Australian eagle, from the Southern Hemisphere [Down Under]
And thought an eagle from Australia, taken to the Northern Hemisphere; would hang upside down.

Schrade Walden 3 1/2" wood handled Slim Stockman pattern 823. Only one i have seen so i think it is rather rare. Has anyone else got an example of the 823 ?

I've never seen one...love the round threaded bolsters and the Turkish clip is one of my favorites. Great find

Schrade was working on a set of Blue Bone knives, before they closed down.
This is one of the knives, from that set.

I was trying to point out, that the 823 in propwood , was still a popular knife frame in 2003-2004.
Is your 825 blue bone knife, a fully finished knife?
I have some shields for a number of the late knives, if you ever need some...Ken .

You really hit the spot with the blue handled Schrade. I have that complete set along with a couple unfinished ones. I have the unfinished ACB80 and ACB296 and sure do envy you having seen a complete set of the finished ones. I` have a couple Schrades that Herman has re-handled in blue bone as well. The 25 and 125 are re-handled with re-jigged Schrade 100 Anniv rope jigged blue bone, the trappers and whittlers were found with cracked handles and screamed to be fixed up. I just sent off a 233, a ss825 and a 787 to be rehandled in blue bone, blades and shields to be left original. Thanks for the offer of the shields and will keep it in mind.

I am delighted to see this one, Roland. I have yet to add that pattern to the fold. 3 9/16" I think? I don't think I have seen one before. I do have an 822, which methinks is probably equally as rare.

I know the 804 is not a rare knife, but have you ever seen one with wood handles?

This is some more of my un-finished ACB knives.
I found them on eBay after the factory closed down. However, some sellers would not sell them to me in Australia.
One seller had about 20 of the un-finished ACB8s, they sold for about $30 to $35 each, back in 2011.
This is what the seller said about the ACB8 shown by its' self.

"Schrader: 3 blade Premium large Stockman, 4" long when closed.
The blades ( clip, splay and sheep’s foot ) are all made of Schrade + steel.
It has Nickel silver bolsters, and brass liners.
The Handles are made of, Genuine BLUE - ROPE CUT BONE .(Not Staglon or Delrin)

This very RARE knife was made in 2004, however they were never finished or sold.
Purchased at the Schrade knife factory’s Closing-down Sales in July 2004.
There is no indication that they had ever been produced.
It is also very rare to find a Schrade knife with a genuine bone handle, and even more rare when it has “ROPE CUT” Handles.
This knife is definitely a rare find.
The pictures of this knife do not come close to doing it justice.
It is an absolutely beautiful knife, that would make a great addition to any Schrade collection.
Brand New - however it did not come in a box.
The Imperial Schrade Co; closed its doors on July 30 -2004, after 100 years of business.
This knife came from Schrade's last remaining stock, making it extremely collectable.
As there will be no more Schrade knives produced, this knife has become a piece of the Schrade Knife Works’, history.

IMPERIAL Schrade's roots, date back to the 1870s at the Ulster Knife Co. of Ellenville.
Schrade Cutlery Co and the Ulster Knife Co combined in Walden in 1904 to form the
Imperial Knife Co."

I have 5 unfinished ACB8s, 1 Salesmen's Sample ACB8 [SS45], 1 unfinished ACB72 and 1 unfinished ACB295.
The seller refused to sell me the only ACB25, I had ever seen for sale - It sold on eBay for $42.
Now-a-days I have friends in the U.S. that I can ask them, to buy for me.

My Salesmen's Sample ACB8 was on eBay, and biding stopped at $35,
I bid $110 at the last minute, then about 4 more bids came in just under me.
Grey Menace, has the only full set of numbered ACB Salesmen's Sample knives I have ever seen.
I have never seen the Cigar Box, like the one shown in the Flyer.

I spent an hour the other night scanning a rare Schrade knife and composing a long boring dissertation on it, then attempting to post. Turned out that my images were like 4 molecules too large and the post was rejected. I said to heck with it and went to bed; not going back there again.

I recently saw one of Schrade's Bald Eagles on the bay but couldn't afford it, so I went with the one Taylor had made in china. Picked it up for $50 delivered and traded out the knife for one of Hermans.

I posted a picture of the one I recently bought on the previous page. I had been after that particular Eagle for quite some time. Found one about 1-1 1/2 years ago but the fella wanted $400.00 for it and I just wouldn't pull the trigger on it.

I found this one on the bay along with another that was high priced (Probably the one you mentioned). I was able to get this one for a decent price and have closed the book on that chapter.

I got suckered into buying one of the eagles you have posted and was disappointed when I received it and realized it was in fact Taylor. Then I got another for free, so now I have two. I am going to replace the Taylor knives with Real Schrades and call it a day. They sit in a cabinet, kind of like book ends....LOL

I like the fact that you have used a Herman Williams Schrade, but then, I wouldn't have expected any less of you! Great job, and great collection you have as well. I am in awe of your Herman Williams gathering!

Here is another Schrade-Walden 804 with wood handles and A S-W 243 with wood handles. The early Schrade-Walden knives had more variety of patterns and handle types than the later ones.
