Greetings To All From the North Coast
First let me say what a great sight this is to learn from and see some truely great collections. I am really jealous of some of you!
My name is John and this knife collecting desease has hit me bad. I am just starting out so I will looking for guidence and direction. I have carried a SAK Classic for the last twenty years and can't leave home without it. Even when I put something else in my pocket it still goes with me.
I have found memories of the four summers I spent in Hungary with my grandfather as a child. He always gave my brother and I a knife and helpped us carve slingshots and potato guns made with feather quills. I still have those simple and inexpensive knives and consider them my most cherished.
So anyways Hello to all and I look forward to being a part of this group.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Have not played the knife give away yet. Thanks for the heads up. As far as books, I own the 2005 Blade's Knives & Their Values, and have from the library Collector Knives by H. Price, and Pocket Knives by B. Levine. I have also browsed the book by Sargent. What books are pretty much the collectors bible?

Here is a link and you can see a few books offered through knifeworld. You may find a better price somewhere else, I always say, shop around.
