Anybody Like Straight Razors?

I thought I would venture off into a little something different. This Robeson is in really nice shape. I will have to do a little research to see how old it is.

I just today bid on my first one.

I have no idea what it is worth but she is YELLOW...

Perhaps you can advise me on what (mine to be) is worthy of paying for her.

I think that straight razors are one of the untapped finds in the collectable cutlery hobby.

I get just as big of thrill in finding an old PA related razor as I do knife. Great colors and handle material abound.

The prices are far more reasonable then knive and you can be much more picky on condition as they are not REAl hard to find in good condition. I think you are making a good decsion all the way around on that one.

Just make sure the old Penn stuff comes my way first.

Thanks David. That Robeson came in the mail this morning and I was pleased with the great condition that it is in. Unfortuneately I don't have the box or pouch for it but a lot of razors can be found with the box. And yes, straight razors can be bought pretty reasonably.

Hey Ken & James those are fantastic looking razors..

Robeson and Henckels at that...Nice!!!

I especially like the bolster type work on the Robeson James, I have never seen that before on straight razors..

Here's a few of my full size razors and some corn razors as well as some corn knives.My pride and joy is the week set(7 razors marked Sunday through Saturday)made by Wade,Wingfield,and Rowbotham in a presentation case dated 1899.That particular mark was much earlier(circa 1860) so I'm not sure exactly when they were made.

Ken, Yeah it did go pretty high didn't it? Looks like there were 2 guys that wanted it pretty bad. You'll find another one.
