Lipschultz Mutt dating

Got ahold of this knife and don't know much about it. It's 3 3/4" long MOP handles Stamped Lipschultz over Solingen over Germany on one side of all blades and has stamp of a dog over Mutt on other side all blades. All blades have long pull. Near mint condition. Looking for information on dating and possible value for putting on eBay.

How did you come up with that figure ?

well by how they usually sell on ebay,

and by some that was listed in stores here on aapk

or we can say 300 t0 500

This marking was used on knives made by C. Bertram Hen & Rooster from before AGRussell owned it (~ '75-80). They do sell for the prices stated above.
However, i have seen knives marked like the OP knife that i think are later reproductions not made by Bertram. Such knives are not worth much, but might sell high to naive bidders.
To comment on the OP knife i would need to have it in hand. It takes more skill and experience to reliably assess with pictures alone.

Pretty accurate assessment I would say. I have handled a few and they seem to sell 400 to 500 or so. At least the bigger ones that are 3 3/4".
If memory serves me correctly I believe Adrian Harris told me lipschuz had a pawn shop in Nashville, Tennessee. I could be wrong on that.
I believe it is spelled Lipschutz with a Mutt etch on the tang although I just sold a horn handled one on eBay that didn't have the mutt.

Yes it is spelled Lipschutz. My auto correct ya know. Thanks for everyone adding to this post. Now I don't know if I should sell it or keep it. Hahaha. It is a very fine made knife. Built with no shortcuts that I see anyway. Came out of a collection with other nice knives like 3 eye's and Remington's so have to think it's the real deal.. May just add it to the bay for grins and see where it goes. If you want to check it out next week or so, it will be under my eBay name - rugerart

I'll second that.

MUTT is one of the rarer older Hen & Rooster made knives. Other rare names are "Colt, Kane, Mar Cal, John I Son, Fife, Jeffrey, and Acorn. Those stamps will always bring a premium over the more common C Bertram, Voss Cut, and Gutmann. A lot of collectors look for those rare names.

Regarding the names mentioned above by Tom: be careful and carefully read the knife. I had a "Jeffery" and a "Kane" both of which clearly were not made by C.Bertram.
Someone had knives made and marked with names associated with Hen & Rooster knives. Don't bid high based only on the markings.
